Personal Lines Account Manager

JOB TITLE: Personal Lines Account Manager

DEPARTMENT: Personal Lines

REPORTS TO: Personal Lines Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Under direction of the Personal Lines Manager, the Account Manager is responsible for managing, servicing and retention of Personal Lines accounts.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Responds to client and company requests, providing information or action needed in a prompt and timely manner. Use each service contact as an opportunity to review and market appropriate coverage.
    2. Recommend coverage to meet clients’ needs, prepare quotes and proposals to sell new policies to existing clients, collecting premium when applicable.
    3. Educate clients as to coverage limitations and document on the computer system.
    4. Completes applications for insurance and obtains insured signature; prepare for submission to eligible and appropriate carriers, following all applicable binding procedures.
    5. Processes new policies, renewals and endorsements in a timely manner, verifying accuracy and coverage adequacy of policies. Request changes to correct errors and follow up as needed.
    6. Invoices all agency bill transactions per agency requirements.
    7. Issues Insurance Certificates, Binders, I.D. Cards and Proof of Insurance as needed/
    8. Maintains electronic client files and logs in an accurate, up-to date manner in compliance with agency standards in order to provide prompt, accurate service to clients.
    9. Processes confirmed cancellations
    10. Assists clients in submitting first reports of claims (as required by agency); submit claims for payment; referring problems or questions to the Claims Manager or appropriate carrier contacts.
    11. Keeps informed regarding industry information, underwriting guidelines, new product information, coverage and technology to continuously improve knowledge and stay current with the industry
    12. Interacts effectively with others by utilizing good communication skills; maintaining a positive attitude and providing information, guidance and/or recommendations as needed to contribute to the business efforts of the agency
    13. Presents a professional demeanor over the phone, in writing, as well as in person – able to perform client presentations.
    14. Effectively and efficiently follows up on all email and voicemail requests.
    15. Demonstrate initiative in tasks by completing what is necessary and investigate and complete any task that may be related to ensure comprehensive service.
    16. Performs all duties with ethics and integrity.
    17. Maintain TAM diary system and follow-up for outstanding items
    18. Actively refers clients/prospects for personal insurance (including life and health insurance), as well as business insurance and surety referrals.
    19. Provides back up to the receptionist, as needed.
    20. Other duties as may be assigned

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Associate or Bachelor degree or High School graduate (GED) or completion of an Insurance Study Program resulting in attainment of the designation of CISR.
    2. Appropriate Property and Casualty Agents/Brokers License in good standing.
    3. 8 years experience including a strong knowledge of insurance terminology, concepts and coverage.
    4. Familiar with computers and Agency Management Systems, ability to use internet and word
    processing programs and adapt to new software programs and changes in technology.
    5. Ability to set priorities and perform multiple tasks
    6. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and apply
    concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    7. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations and
    interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    8. Ability to negotiate
    9. Ability to adapt to a paperless environment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

    1. This is a Non-exempt Position which complies with alternative work schedule when applicable
    2. This Position may require mandatory overtime as deemed appropriate by management
    3. The environment is that of a high pressured, fast-paced office with significant telephone and personal disruption and involves a large number of multiple steps in a complex system performed with accuracy and speed is essential to successful completion of tasks.
    4. The office is that of a highly technical company supporting a paperless environment.
    5. Travel may be required
    6. Physical efforts required including fingering, repetitive small motor activity, grasping, verbally communicating detailed and important information to others quickly and accurately, stooping, reaching, standing, lifting light objects under 10 pounds frequently and climbing occasionally (small step ladder to reach supplies)

    Contract Surety Account Executive

    JOB TITLE: Contract Surety Account Executive

    DEPARTMENT:Commercial Lines Sales

    REPORTS TO:Commercial Lines Sales Manager

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Under direction of the Commercial Lines Sales Manager, the Contract Surety Account Executive (commonly referred to as “Producer” in the industry) is responsible for driving new business sales revenue growth, as well as retaining assigned book of contract surety business. A successful candidate would be an applicant that can not only pursue and close sales of new and existing contract surety accounts, but can promote Warren G. Bender Co.’s public image by effectively performing the following responsibilities.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      1. Sales
      • Meet with prospective and existing clients to develop positive business relationships.
      • Maximize account growth by recommending and adding all appropriate lines of coverage to meet the clients business and risk management objectives.
      • Provide quotes and make sales appointments with prospects.
      • Work with bond account manager to complete company submissions and selection of potential markets.
      • Conduct client and prospect appointments communicating proposals, explaining details and communicating desire to conduct business.
      • Develop and execute annual Account Executive sales and marketing plan.

      2. Marketing
      • With the assistance of the Brand Manager, implement email and direct mail campaigns to support company branding and prospect appointment strategy.
      • Invite prospects and current clients to webinars, seminars and other WGBCO events.

      3. Customer Service
      • Maintain data entry into EPIC daily with notes, activities, policy info, info classes and data updates following company field definitions.
      • Introduce service team to clients and request that service calls be directed to them and forward all service related calls to assigned service team.
      • Stay informed of all claims or service issues and become involved in resolution when required.

      4. Community Outreach
      • Be a visible leader in an industry and actively participate in industry associations, organizations, boards and charities, as appropriate.
      • Be a spokesperson for Warren G. Bender Co. and our positive position in the risk management industry.

      5. Insurance Knowledge
      • Participate in on-going staff and sales meetings as directed.
      • Maintain knowledge of commercial lines carrier products and services.
      • Collect detailed risk and underwriting information including survey data and loss history.
      • Keep informed of industry developments through review of trade press and by attending insurance carrier training meetings on new products, etc.

    SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

      1. Four- year degree from an accredited college or university and/or three years or more of successful business-to-business sales experience at one company.
      2. Have a license in good standing or the ability to obtain a license.
      3. Minimum of 3 years contract surety experience including strong knowledge of surety terminology and concepts.
      4. Ability to negotiate.
      5. Ability to review and analyze financial statements.
      6. Ability to solve practical problems; deal with concrete variables in situations; and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
      7. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information.
      8. Ability to read, analyze and interpret industry periodicals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
      9. Familiar with Microsoft Office and Agency Management Systems; ability to adapt to changes in technology.
      10. Ability to utilize social media marketing sources, as well as, traditional marketing sources.
      11. Ability to set priorities and perform multiple tasks.
      12. Ability to work independently and in a team environment to achieve company goals.
      13. Ability to adapt to a paperless environment.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

      1. This is an Exempt Position, which will require more than a 7.5 hour work day – Monday thru Friday.
      2. This work environment is high pressured and fast-paced and accuracy is essential to successful task completion.
